When can I vote?
The voting period is from 10:00 am on October 17 until 8:00 p.m. on October 24, 2022.
How do I vote?
Voters can use any internet connected computer, mobile device or telephone to cast their ballot. The voting website and telephone number will be printed on your Voter Information Letter. There is no paper ballot available for the 2022 election. Voter Assistance Centres will be open during the Voting Period to assist voters with adding or correcting their information on the Voters’ List and casting a ballot by internet. Paper ballots are not available at Voter Assistance Centres. A list of Voter Assistance Centres will be printed on the Voter Information Letter and is available on the Towns website.
Who is entitled to vote?
A person is entitled to vote in an election held in a municipality if, on voting day:
- They reside in the local municipality or are the owner or tenant of land there, or the spouse of an owner or tenant;
- They are a Canadian citizen;
- They are at least 18 years old; and
- They are not otherwise prohibited from voting.
Can I work for the election?
Public opportunities for election staff employment, if available, will be advertised by the Town of Ajax over the summer.
Am I on the Voters’ List? How can I be added?
Use the online lookup tool to check if you are on the List. Electors will receive a Voter Information Letter in early October if they are on the Voters’ List.
Can I make contributions to a candidate’s campaign?
Yes, individuals can contribute up to $1,200 to a candidate’s campaign, to a maximum of $5,000 for all offices on that council or school board. Corporations and trade unions cannot contribute to candidate’s campaigns.
When can election signs be installed?
Election signs are permitted beginning on Thursday, September 29, 2022. Learn more about Election Sign Rules.

There are no referendum questions on the ballot for the 2022 elections.
